In 2011-2012, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics confirmed that over 300,000 jobs were added to the healthcare sector across the United States. Over 35% of jobs in Clearfield and neighboring counties are in healthcare or a related health service. The healthcare industry is one of the "High Priority Occupations" areas in need of more educated and skilled workers to fill annual job openings across North Central Pennsylvania.
And Penn State DuBois once again is responding directly to this shortage and leading the charge in priming the next generation of healthcare and health services professionals.
Penn State DuBois is the leader in educating the future health and administrative professionals in North Central PA. Nursing majors can begin their first two semesters of course work at the DuBois Campus. Students can start and complete Associate degrees in high demand areas of Physical Therapist Assistant (2PTA) or Occupational Therapy Assistant (2OTA).
